This month marks the one year anniversary of losing the legendary Lucas Horan – and we hope that you will join us in honoring his legacy.
Lucas Horan was a dedicated ultra-runner with a seemingly ceaseless curiosity and openness to meeting new people and sharing wild adventures. He was also a brilliant biologist that spent a lot of his brain power engineering lab experiments and reactions that would hopefully lessen the suffering of cancer, and eventually Covid.
One of his proudest racing achievements was completing the 200-mile TOR des Geants mountain race in the Italian Alps TWICE. Given Lucas’ love for this race and his unyielding encouragement of others to dream big and attempt the challenge of TOR themselves, Lucas’ family and KK have created a scholarship for (at least) one person to train for and compete in the race each year.
Please consider making a contribution to help sustain this scholarship in memory of Lucas: And maybe YOU (yes, YOU!) want to apply to be the next Tor de Lucas scholarship recipient? The scholarship will include your race entry to Tor des Geants, 5-months coaching with Peter Fain (who coached Lucas for his two successful TOR finishes) and a $2000 travel and lodging stipend.
