Get ready to up your speed game! Did you know that if you want to run faster then you have to practice running faster? Speed workouts train you how to output more effort, maintain a higher cadence, and mentally cope with some physical discomfort while running. If you practice this skill once or twice per week consistently, you won’t just become faster- you will run faster with less effort. Whether you are looking to increase your speed or meet some new running buddies, our weekly speedwork sessions will help.
Donner Party Mountain Runners will be partnering with Reno Running Company to bring you speedwork training that you can run at your own pace. Join us Tuesday evenings beginning June 8th at 6pm. Location is the Tahoe Meadows Trailhead on Mount Rose Summit [MAP].
In order to make these runs fun and safe for everyone, we need all participants to follow current state and county guidelines. In particular, these runs are limited to current DPMR members (to ensure a “stable cohort”), face coverings are required before and after the run at the trailhead/parking areas, and 6-feet of physical separation will be necessary during the run. Also, please note that this is a DPMR sponsored group run subject to the DPMR Code of Conduct, so we ask that you please leave your doggy friends at home.
