Join Renee Elsdon Jacobs for a presentation on what she considers “possibly the happiest period of my life” – preparing for and achieving the Fastest Known Time (FKT) for the California 14ers. She ran and climbed all of the California 14ers in a little over 6 days in August 2019, aided by a shuttler that drove her between trailheads. Her record is the only known solo female attempt, and bested the previous female attempt by over three days. One of her biggest goals in the FKT was to inspire others, particularly women, and especially mothers. She will discuss how it came together while working part-time and being a mother of a toddler, her new FKT addiction, and how she achieves balance between being her roles of mother, wife, and outdoor adventurer.
