Have you been wanting to get out and run with other runners, but either feel intimidated by experienced runners or not up for a long/intense session? Come out and join Steve Buelna and crew for 6 weeks of introductory running on a variety of local trails for a group run specifically designed for the beginning/mellow runner. Whether you are looking to learn some new places to run and meet some new running buddies or have plans to race your first half marathon, the DPMR Newbies Run Club is for you!
Training sessions will be on Tuesdays evenings. Locations TBD – they will be posted to the DPMR Facebook page and the calendar on the DPMR website. Be laced up and ready to go as the run starts at 6:00 PM sharp! The first run will be exactly 30 minutes, regardless of how fast you run.
What should you bring? Just bring your running shoes and a desire to have fun. If you have a watch and a water bottle, you can bring that too. Check DPMR Facebook page for reminders about the run on Tuesday evenings, along with a location and conditions update. Please note that per the updated DPMR Code of Conduct, because this is a DPMR sponsored group run, please leave furry friends at home.
Hang out afterwards to socialize over beverages (compliments of DPMR). Tahoe Mountain Sports will also be doing shoe demos before the run (dates TBD). Stay tuned for additional details!
The primary focus for these runs is to offer an inviting run option that can help to get newer runners stoked on running. So tell your family, friends, coworkers and come have a BLAST with the DPMR Newbies.
