This month’s song of the month is Heartbeats by The Knife. It’s got a quick 176 beats per minute tempo, so for most people, it’s best accompanied by a non-technical descent or flowing single track. It’s also a good one to use if you are experimenting with increasing your pace (many running biomechanics say that 180 steps per minute is optimum, which does not come naturally to most runners).
And if you’d rather use your time on the trails to explore the world of podcasts, check out the Conor Dwyer interview on the Finding Mastery podcast , which will give you some insight into the components of a master athlete – genetics, environment, mindset, training, work ethic… It’s an inspiring and educational interview worth returning to over and over again.
