When: Wednesdays at 6:00 PM beginning 3/13/19
Where: The Legacy Trail in Truckee. Meet at the East River St. bridge.
Bring: a watch, possibly traction devices for your shoes
It’s hard to believe with all this white stuff around, but it’s time to start your speed training for the summer racing season. I will once again be hosting six weeks of group runs focused on speedwork for all abilities. Don’t wait until you’re in better shape – speedwork is what gets you in shape!
This year, training sessions will be on Wednesdays. As in the past, we will meet at the East River Street bridge in Truckee and all runs will take place on the Legacy Trail. Our first session will be Wednesday, March 13. We start at 6:00 PM sharp!
I feel so grateful that the Town of Truckee has been plowing the Legacy Trail throughout this crazy winter. I’ve spent a lot of time there in the past two months, and most of those runs have required traction devices. That may still be the case in two weeks, so be prepared. I will post reminders about the run on Wednesday mornings on the DPMR Facebook page, along with a conditions update, so be on the lookout for those details.
I try to structure most of the workouts to keep runners more-or-less together. As such, a lot of the workouts are based off time. For this reason, I recommend bringing a watch. Just a basic watch is fine. And if for some reason you forget yours, no worries. It’s not an excuse to skip the run! Traditionally we truly have had runners of all abilities show up for these workouts, and that’s my favorite part. It’s a community event.
I look forward to seeing all your smiling DPMR faces in two weeks!
