The bonnets, pioneer dresses and even rainbow colors were displayed serving up the best passion one could ask for, all in true DPMR style. Ultrarunning legend, Ann Trason, brightened the scene with her rainbow hair and vibrant outfit (her 2nd costume change of the day), working the late shift at our aid station after spending the morning directing runners at the Swinging Bridge.

Spike Wimmer led the way to multiple medical aids that included strained muscles, lower GI issues, and even a caffeine overdose. JP Prince sported the camper for carpool and supply transport, and expert care of the runners. Bill Hunter, ‘aid station extraordinaire’, was the Cal2 historical expert and also pulled a double duty shift. Helen Pelster brought out ‘the beast’ for her carpool vehicle of choice while also driving the team to the final hours of planning to make this aid station the best in the canyon.

Jeff Gould and Omar Amir(Team AAA) not only used their selfless acts on the runners (and worked extra long shifts) but also pulled a Suby off of a water bar. These guys know how to unstick low clearance cars on high clearance roads. Yes they CAN DO attitude!
Georganna Quarles diligently and expertly took charge of the aid station kitchen. Holly Ryerson and John Hargett were instrumental in providing exceptional service, Kathy D’Onofrio guided a troubled runner from the river back to our Aid Station (and Spike’s medical care), Ben Praker specialized in Texas quesadillas, Bret and Kari Long kept track of all the runners heading back to Foresthill, and Kelly Barber joined the party for the 2nd shift, staying until the end, after working all day on other parts of the course.
Tiffany Anderson energetically and tirelessly worked the 1st shift at the Pump then raced to Foresthill to catch a ride to our Aid Station and work until the last runner came through.

Jenelle Potvin’s awesome pioneer dresses and unfettered support shined bright and put the DP back in DPMR.

Chaz Sheya, Sean Flanagan, and Chris Perillo! These guys know how to throw a party for a very large and demanding group of ultra runners. They were certainly exceptional in supporting our needs which allowed Cal2 to successfully support the runners. Special thanks to Lesley Dellamonica, who helped in the pre-planning while I was playing in the Himalayas.
