Every good running club does a pub run. DPMR turns ours to 11 by raising the casual 3 mile road jaunt to a casual 50k on 95% single track from the Alibi Ale Works in Incline Village to the other Alibi Ale Works in Truckee. Last year’s Mellow Fellow to Mellow Fellow end-of-season celebration was wildly popular and everyone who did not attend experienced massive FOMO. Do not let this be you.
From Incline Village, the route goes up to the Tahoe Rim Trail, intersecting near Rifle Peak, and meanders toward Highway 267, which is at about mile 13.3 There will be a water drop and whatever random food makes it to the aid. That being said, we recommend each runner bring 2 Liters of water, a water filter and enough food for a slower-than-race-pace 50k in the mountains.
After Watson Lake, the route heads toward the Sawtooth Trail and drops you into Truckee.
There is no entry fee or qualifying standards and you don’t have to give us a shirt or a license place. Unafraid (more intense than fearless) leader Chris Cloyd only asks two things:
Toast the 6 fallen members of the Donner Family, who perished in the winter of 1846-47 with 6 oz. of beer at the start.
Toast the 38 members of the entire Donner Party who met the same fate with 2 pints of beer at the end of the run.
You can substitute with Whiskey or non-alcoholic beer depending on what you’re going for.

Casual pace, laughing and celebration are highly encouraged but not mandatory. You can ask Cloyd what the CR is at the start if that’s your jam. BUT, the dead last finisher will win a pair of Leki trekking poles. Make good choices.
Everyone will be entered to win a new pair of Salomon shoes!
Prepare to spend a day in the woods with your friends! Even if you don’t know any of us, you will by the end!
