Broken Arrow Sky Race, June 18-19 in Olympic Valley (where DPMR members receive a 20% discount on race registration – Email firstname.lastname@example.org for your code), offers activities throughout the weekend for racers, volunteers, and spectators. Looking to volunteer? We need you – click here for more information. Max King and Dakota Jones will be leading a fun run up Shirley Canyon at 2pm on Saturday June 18 and we’ve tacked on the Trails in Motion Film Festival that night at 6pm at the Plaza Bar…. Dakota will be our emcee there too. Salomon will be on hand with shoe demos throughout the weekend and our vendor village is coming along nicely with lots of leading brands represented there.
Besides the Broken Arrow Skyrace weekend, local runners will have the chance to fun run on the best trails around North Lake Tahoe, as part of the Alpenglow Mountain Festival – Summer. Runs of all distances will occur during the event, as will equipment demos from Salomon and Hoka. Krissy Moehl a Patagonia ambassador, and Devon Yanko, of Oiselle, will lead a women’s only run through Page Meadows on Thursday, June 23. As education is always a component of the event, Jason Koop, author of “Training Essentials for Ultrarunning,” will host an informal Q&A on Wednesday, June 22nd and Moehl will sign her book “Running Your First Ultra” after the women’s fun run on Thursday, June 23. The full agenda and registration links will be posted on Alpenglow Sports webpage soon.
