As I reflect back on this year’s Canyons Endurance Runs, I had one goal: to ensure all who were involved were satisfied. Whether running, volunteering, sponsoring or cheering someone to the finish, the rain never ruined our parade.
“hold the door, say please, say thank you, don’t steal, don’t cheat and don’t lie, I know you’ve got mountains to climb but Always stay Humble and Kind”- Tim McGraw
So many great people came together in a massive effort to help achieve this goal. I can not say Thank You enough. It is impossible to list everyone but those who were there know exactly what they did.
The Runners: This was your day and you made the best of it. The weather made things “challenging”. Everyone I talked to afterward was so grateful. They had not one bad thing to say, no complaints, no whining, just really happy to have achieved their goals. Happy for awesome volunteers, grateful for the fortitude to push on when the body says stop and humbled by the beauty that this trail offers.
“when the dreams you’re dreaming come to you, when the work you put in is realized, let yourself feel the pride but Always stay Humble and Kind”- Tim McGraw

The Volunteers: This was your day to give back and you did that and more. Re-read the prior paragraph and that says it all. Every runner I talked to said, “you have the best volunteers ever, all the aid stations were great, the food after was yummy, having a shower was amazing”, we are humbled that you all are so kind! The weather was especially hard on you, but you stayed tough through it all, with a smile and the savvy to help runners get through the long day and into the night. Your love for this sport and those you helped running shines bright!
“don’t take for granted the love this life gives you, when you get where you’re going, don’t forget, turn back around, help the next one in line- Always stay Humble and Kind”- Tim McGraw
I am looking forward to next year already and I hope you are too! Along with Chris Perillo and Pete Broomhall, we will always do our best to give everyone an opportunity to experience these beautiful and magical Β Canyons. We will do our best to make this race a little better each year. Whether it be the people running or those standing by to help, we are honored and grateful that you chose to join us this year and in the years to come!

Congrats on another successful year, Chaz! You and your team set a high bar for RDs. Your giving spirit for the Canyons should pay it forward come June 25th π
That is so nice to hear Emily, thanks so much! It is truly rewarding to be able to throw a big trail party in the Canyons:) see you in Squaw!

All I can say is Thank you!! First of all for helping me believe in myself that I could do this race all alone with no crew and pacer!! The constant support and encouragement that you and Chris have me was amazing and so appreciated!! This race was more than just a race to me. It was so much more!! It made me mentally tougher and definitely challenged me physically!! I will definitely be back to try and break that 16 hr mark..since I missed it by 11 min!! The volunteers were amazing and so helpful!! The hard work you all put in as RDs really showed. You guys are amazing and put on a stellar event!! Thank you again so much for helping my achieve such an amazing goal!! Hopefully it will be the one thay gets me my ticket onto WS 2017!!!
So proud of you and the courage and determination to achieve your goal. We knew you could do it and you did it with a smile, congrats! Hoping you get lucky at the WS lottery!
