The DPMR weekend snowshoe runs have been sell-out hits. Next up is our Return of the Racing Gnome snowshoe race hosted at Auburn Ski Club (Donner Summit) on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016. We need runners! Click here for snowshoe race info. Not sure about racing? Signup to volunteer and see the action up close. Click here to volunteer.
There are two more free group run opportunities, one to the Peter Grubb Hut / Castle Peak and the other is a moonlight evening run in partnership with the Alpenglow Mountain Festival. Click here for the club calendar.
Additional snowshoe racing opportunities for the less timid include The Great Ski Race in March and the Billy Dutton Uphill in April.

The weather cooperated for both runs at Prosser Hill and Donner Memorial State Park. Coincidently, these locations happen to be the start and finish locations for our Castle Peak 100k.
Club members travelled from as far as Susanville and San Francisco to experience snowshoe running in Truckee. Leader Peter Fain (Run on Dirt Coaching) makes it fun and accessible for every ability level. Club member Jon Easterbrook introduced his entire family to the sport. Meanwhile, Atlas snowshoe racing team member Sarah Raitter and her Reno crew keep coming back for the extended course, which usually includes a special “Peter Fain uphill.”
Hope to see you on the snow soon!
