The elusive El Niño weather pattern has delivered a fabulous start to winter in the Lake Tahoe region. While many are taking advantage of the skiing after several dry winters, DPMR is also happy to present a slate of snowshoe running opportunities.
The Return of the Racing Gnome
The return of snow means the return of snowshoe racing! Registration is now open for our 5k and 10k (two lap) courses hosted at Auburn Ski Club. The course will be challenging but welcoming to snowshoe runners of all ability levels. Click here to learn more about the snowshoe races.
Snowshoe Group Runs
If you are new to the sport of snowshoe running, or just looking for new places run on snow in the Truckee-Tahoe area, join one of our group runs. Former national snowshoe champion Peter Fain will lead these runs, but don’t let that scare you away… everyone is encouraged to join and learn snow running tips and tricks from the best.
Space is tight at these special venues – FREE pre-registration is required. We also have some running-specific snowshoes to share, so if you don’t have your own please select that ticket type when you register. Click here for 2016 dates.
