Race day is TOMORROW and we are excited for all the DPMR runners who are brave enough to toe the line and we are grateful and inspired by all the volunteers who give so much time and effort to help. It is going to be an epic journey filled with lifelong memories.
Captain Mike Tebbett along with Betsy Nye, Paul Sweeney, Lizzie Sweeney, Jenelle Potvin, Stephanie Blume, Diana Schlaff, JP Prince and Tina Hyde are all going to be at Cal2 Donner Party Mountain Runners aid station. Runners are in good hands, and it will be great to see familiar faces during the last leg of the 100k!
Rob Krar and Magda Boulet will headline a fast 100k field, and both races are sure to be exciting with a lot of other speedsters such as Ryan Ghelfi, Peter Fain, Yiou Wang, Luke Garten, Galen Farris, Jen Pfeifer, Jenny Capel, Anna Mae Flynn, Kathy D’onofrio and Emily Petersen. I love that about our sport, that we can all get out there and mix it up with the elites! Not many other sports allow that to happen.
We have 137 100k runners and 95 50k. There are too many to mention DPMR folks signed up – watch for the bright yellow shirts or the gray trucker hats and remember to run… Unafraid!

We will be the first ultra trail race to use USLive.TV real time tracking. Follow along on their website to see where anyone is at anytime. No more waiting for an hour or more for an update. Track location, pace, place and distance. This will give those who can’t be there a real-time, live experience. They will see when you are about to approach a “live video feed” from various locations during the day. Even more important is the runner safety aspect. We will know where you are at all times, and if you are off course or not moving, we can send help ASAP! The tracking device is small and will fit on your wrist or in a pocket, ALL RUNNERS MUST WEAR THE DEVICE TO PARTICIPATE.
We will have grilled tri-tip, veggies, and chicken sausage along with a lentil/bean soup to refuel after your day. Plenty of cold drinks (maybe IPA) and snacks as well. We will have a large area with shade or sun to enjoy that post race feeling and sharing of the days events. GU will have recovery drink and lots of samples. Fleet Feet will provide ample shade tents and chairs.
Great swag is coming your way. The 100k finishers will get the Canyons branded leather belt, along with the famous trucker hat and pint glass! Sorry, 50k finishers will have to step up next year to get the belt, but we may throw in a T-shirt or hoodie if you THANK the volunteers!
GO runners! See you at the Aid station 🙂
