With mild temperatures and sunrise nearing 6:30am, we can no longer put off morning runs. And a good thing too, our runners are chomping at the bit to get out there and run. Many of us have kept the trails warm by never stopping, but with the introduction of two new run opportunities we will now have the chance to up our game. I for one am already tired of running solo all winter.
Mid-March two runs went active: Waddle Ranch Wednesdays and Wellness Thursdays. Each will provide a unique running experience for all ability levels.
Waddle Ranch Wednesdays will start at 6:30am every Wednesday and depart from Gate 10 off of highway 267. The workouts will be about 90 minutes (give or take) and are designed to take you out of your comfort zone. There is a one mile warm up and cool down for social needs. Your ability level doesn’t matter, you just have to have the courage to push yourself beyond what you’re probably used to. The results will be worth the effort. Consistency is key this year. This challenging workout day will always occur at the same place and same time. Be Unafraid.
After you’ve toughed out a Wednesday morning, our Wellness Thursdays will work to rejuvenate your body. Spend an early morning logging some cruiser miles (3-5) along our iconic Lake Tahoe, followed by 30 minutes of yoga focusing on postural & energetic balancing hosted by Lake Tahoe Wellness Center. These runs will begin at 7:30am and will meet at LTWC in Kings Beach.
You couldn’t ask for better back-to-back training sessions. We’re fired up to be up and running. Coming soon: Monday evening Trail Teasers and many hosted weekend group runs around our region. Click here for more Group Run info.
