The Donner Party Mountain Runners will be well-represented at the California International Marathon (CIM) in Sacramento this year.
Get through the dark mornings and rainy long runs with some company from the club. Volunteer Helen Pelster will lead Tuesday morning speed workouts and weekly long runs.
The speed workouts will generally be held at the Truckee High School track on Donner Pass Rd. at 6:30am. The high school track is a forgiving dirt surface. Tempo runs may take place in other locations, so please be sure to check the calendar. Helen is a mid-pack runner so don’t be afraid to join in! The first speed workout will be at the High School Track on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 6:30am.
Weekly long runs will be held on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. Many training runs will be done on dirt, and some may even be field trips to lower elevations. Several club members are also training for the North Face Endurance Challenge, so look to share some miles with this crew as well. The first long run will be an out-and-back on the Emigrant Trail (dirt parking at Hobart Mills sign) on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at 7:30am.
